Kuala lumpur: A man reported missing after failing to return home on June 10 has been confirmed dead. Barat Daya police chief ACP Anuwal Ab Wahab stated that Shahir Zainul, aged 46, was confirmed to have died on June 11, just a day after his disappearance. His body was identified by family members at the Penang Hospital (HPP) Forensic Department yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, investigations revealed that Penang Hospital had previously issued a public notice about an unidentified adult male body being held at the hospital's Forensic Medicine Department. After family members identified the body, it was confirmed to be Shahir Zainul, who passed away due to acute coronary syndrome on June 11 while receiving treatment at Penang Hospital.

Yesterday, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was initiated by police, with assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), in the Department of Agriculture area along Lebuh Bukit Jambul after Shahir's motorcycle was discovered there. However, the operation was called off the same day as it yielded no results or new leads.

Anuwal urged the public to refrain from speculating or spreading unverified information about the incident, as it could cause unnecessary public concern. Shahir was last seen leaving his home in Persiaran Mayang Pasir 2, Bayan Baru, around 5 am on his motorcycle. His mother lodged a missing person report on June 12 after he failed to return home for two days following a disagreement.
