Kuala lumpur: A local man died after being gored by a buffalo while assisting in a qurban (sacrificial) ritual at Kampung Tenang, Ulu Tiram, here yesterday. Seri Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak confirmed that the incident occurred at about 10 am. The 45-year-old victim, who sustained injuries, was rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 11 pm on the same day. Post-mortem findings revealed that the cause of death was due to vascular injuries to the victim's left leg. The case has been classified as sudden death by the authorities.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another 45-year-old local man suffered a fractured left rib after being gored by a buffalo at Batu 19, Kampung Sungai Tiram, here yesterday. This incident, which occurred at about 2 pm, gained significant attention on social media. The victim is currently receiving treatment at Sultan Ismail Hospital.
Mohd Sohaimi stated that the Johor State Veterinary Department had been informed of both incidents for further action. He also advised the public to refrain from speculating or spreading unverified information regarding these cases.
