Man Found Dead in Locked SUV Behind Shop Lot in Tasek Gelugor

Tasek gelugor: A man was found dead inside a locked sport utility vehicle (SUV) behind a shop lot in Taman Ara Mutiara here last night. Penang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (Operations) John Sagun Francis reported that the 34-year-old victim was discovered in the driver’s seat of a Mazda CX-5, with the engine still running.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, firefighters received an emergency call at 8.50 pm. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle with its engine running and the doors locked, with an unconscious man inside. Firefighters used special equipment to assist the police in unlocking the car door, but the victim was pronounced dead by health personnel at the scene.

The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation. The operation concluded at 9.35 pm.

In a separate incident, the department received a call at 12.45 am today to assist police in opening the door of a unit at Flat 100 Sungai Pinang near Jelutong. The team arrived at the location six minutes later and used special equipment to pry open the door, where they found an elderly man inside, who was confirmed dead by health personnel. This case has also been referred to the police.
