Man Arrested After Returning to Crime Scene to Retrieve Left Items

Batu maung: A man was apprehended by a homeowner after returning to a house he had previously burglarized to collect items he had left behind. The incident occurred in Batu Maung, where the suspect had initially entered the residence through the back door while the housemaid was outside disposing of trash.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspect, upon realizing the presence of the homeowner, attempted to flee. However, he later returned to the scene to retrieve the forgotten items. The homeowner, with the assistance of a friend, managed to capture the suspect and handed him over to the police patrol unit in Zone 3, Batu Maung.

An initial urine test revealed that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamines, and benzodiazepines. Additionally, he has a prior record of drug-related offenses. The police stated that the suspect would be presented before the Balik Pulau Magistrate’s Court for a remand order, as the case is being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code.

A 25-second video capturing the incident went viral on social media, showing the suspect descending the stairs while being confronted by the homeowner. The police tracked the video, which was uploaded to a Facebook account, at 4 pm on the day of the incident.
