Malaysia’s Palm Oil Stockpiles Increase by 3.32% to 2.63 Million Tonnes in July 2026

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia's palm oil stockpiles saw a rise of 3.32 per cent, or 84,495 tonnes, reaching 2.63 million tonnes in July 2026, up from 2.54 million tonnes the previous month.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) reported an increase in crude palm oil (CPO) stocks, which went up by 7.24 per cent, or 96,495 tonnes, totaling 1.43 million tonnes in July 2026 compared to 1.33 million tonnes in June 2026. Conversely, processed palm oil stockpiles slightly decreased by 0.99 per cent to 1.20 million tonnes from the previous month's 1.21 million tonnes.

The report highlighted a significant rise in production, with CPO output increasing by 9.41 per cent, or 154,183 tonnes, to reach 1.79 million tonnes from 1.64 million tonnes in June. Additionally, palm kernel output saw a 10.69 per cent increase month-on-month, climbing to 422,266 tonnes from 381,486 tonnes.

Further details from the MPOB's July industry performance report showed crude palm kernel oil production rising by 14.55 per cent to reach 199,392 tonnes, up from 174,071 tonnes in June. Palm kernel cake output also experienced a rise of 10.11 per cent, reaching 215,304 tonnes from 195,534 tonnes.

On the export front, palm oil exports increased by 14.50 per cent in July 2026, totaling 1.39 million tonnes compared to 1.22 million tonnes the month before. In contrast, palm kernel oil exports saw a slight decline of 1.73 per cent, amounting to 82,261 tonnes from 83,712 tonnes. Palm kernel cake exports also decreased by 8.72 per cent, falling to 203,454 tonnes from 222,887 tonnes.

The report also noted that oleochemical exports rose by 17.81 per cent, reaching 265,198 tonnes from June's 255,098 tonnes. Biodiesel exports experienced a significant surge of 496.77 per cent, climbing to 28,745 tonnes from 4,817 tonnes the previous month.

Moreover, the MPOB reported zero imports of CPO in July. Imports of processed palm oil and palm oil dropped by 51.93 per cent to 49,566 tonnes from 103,113 tonnes in June, while palm kernel oil imports increased by 93.12 per cent to 11,545 tonnes, up from 5,978 tonnes in the preceding month.
