Malaysia’s Palm Oil Production and Exports See Significant Decline in November

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia’s crude palm oil (CPO) production experienced a 5.30 per cent month-on-month decrease, falling to 1.94 million tonnes in November 2025 from 2.04 million tonnes in October 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) reported a notable drop in palm oil exports by 28.13 per cent, reducing exports to 1.21 million tonnes from 1.69 million tonnes in the previous month, as detailed in the Performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry, November 2025 report.

Palm kernel output also saw a decline, slipping 7.43 per cent month-on-month to 442,266 tonnes from October. Additionally, crude palm kernel oil production decreased by 1.35 per cent to 207,679 tonnes, while palm kernel cake output contracted by 1.92 per cent to 225,357 tonnes.

Despite the reduction in production and exports, CPO inventories rose by 17.56 per cent to 1.74 million tonnes in November compared to the previous month, with processed palm oil stocks increasing by 6.50 per cent to 1.09 million tonnes. This led to an overall rise in total palm oil inventories by 13.04 per cent to 2.83 million tonnes in November from 2.51 million tonnes in October, as noted by MPOB.

Palm kernel oil exports dropped by 13.20 per cent to 87,287 tonnes, while palm kernel cake exports increased by 5.02 per cent month-on-month to 228,080 tonnes. Furthermore, oleochemical exports decreased by 20.13 per cent month-on-month to 203,325 tonnes, whereas biodiesel exports surged by 104.79 per cent to 47,059 tonnes.

The report also highlighted that CPO imports in November were non-existent, and total palm kernel oil imports fell by 61.30 per cent month-on-month to 3,365 tonnes from 8,695 tonnes in October.
