Malaysian Tigress Triumph in Ninth Consecutive SEA Games Gold, Coach Highlights Challenges

Kuala lumpur: The national women's hockey team of Malaysia has secured their ninth consecutive gold medal at the SEA Games by defeating Indonesia with a resounding 6-0 in the final, held at the Thailand National Sports University.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysian Tigress head coach Mohd Nasihin Nubli acknowledged the victory as hard-earned, emphasizing the well-prepared competition they faced. "Alhamdulillah, we managed to retain our gold medal. But it did not come easily," he stated, praising the adaptability of his players under challenging conditions and expressing gratitude to the loyal fans.

Despite the coach's modest remarks, the Malaysian Tigress delivered a commanding performance. The match was set in motion just eight minutes in with a penalty corner goal by Khairunnisa Ayuni Mohd Sharuddin. This was followed by a field goal from Nurmaizatul Hanim Syafi Shiek Fuad, extending their lead.

Khairunnisa Ayuni struck again before halftime, and a quick double from Nur Afiqah Syahzani Azhar in the third quarter further solidified the lead. Hanis Nadiah Onn concluded the match with the final goal, cementing Malaysia's dominance with a stylish finish.
