Malaysian SMEs Reap Benefits From CISCE In Beijing.

BEIJING: Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) described the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) as an eye-opening experience in terms of future market planning, as well as benefiting from finding space for their supply chain business.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kinta Small and Medium Business Sustainability Association (KPKS) Perak president Ooi Kah Biew said the expo provided inspiration, education, and opportunities for Malaysian SMEs to go beyond their targets. He expressed hope that the technology observed at the expo could be brought back to Malaysia as part of KPKS’ aim for attending the event.

KPKS Perak’s visit to China aims to seek opportunities for collaboration with Chinese SMEs. The visit, scheduled from November 23 to 28, focuses on aligning local SMEs with advanced technological trends and global best practices. The delegation includes KPKS vice-president Tan Boon Chye, Jelapang State Legislative Assembly member Cheah Pou Hian, SME activities and programmes organising
committee secretary Shum Khee Khee, and several SME leaders from Perak.

Yong Wai Meng, executive director of Hurm Burg Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd and one of the delegates, highlighted the significant benefits of attending CISCE. As an automotive component manufacturer, he gained valuable insights into electric vehicle (EV) technology showcased at the expo. The transition from traditional cabling to fibre optic in EV development was particularly relevant to his business.

Meanwhile, Cheah Pou Hian urged Malaysian SMEs to leverage international expos like CISCE to comprehend technological developments. The knowledge gained can help businesses adapt their plans and future direction. He remarked on the session’s insights into green energy, smart manufacturing, solar photovoltaic-powered green hydrogen, and automated optical inspection technologies.

The second edition of the CISCE, from November 26 to 30, features participation from over 620 enterprises, institutions, and organisations from more than 69 countries, ma
rking a 20 percent increase from the first expo. The event serves as a platform for participants to seek business partners within the world’s strongest supply chain.
