Madinah: Malaysian haj pilgrims should be prepared to face hot weather, with temperatures reaching up to 45 degrees Celsius, while in the Holy City of Madinah. Tabung Haji operations director in Madinah, Affandi Abdullah, also reminded these pilgrims that for the 1446H season, it is essential to maintain their health and drink sufficient water to avoid dehydration.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the weather in Madinah this year is expected to be hot and dry, with temperatures already reaching 41 degrees Celsius. Affandi Abdullah noted that as May approaches, temperatures are predicted to rise even further, potentially exceeding previous highs of 49 degrees Celsius. He emphasized the importance of pilgrims preparing both mentally and physically for these challenging weather conditions during their worship.
Affandi also advised haj pilgrims to adhere to regulations set by the Saudi Arabian authorities as well as Tabung Haji. These include guidelines for staying in accommodation buildings and other protocols throughout their time in the Holy Land. This year’s haj season involves two phases: initially, 45 percent of the total 31,600 pilgrims will enter Madinah first, while the second phase will see pilgrims arriving from Makkah after wuquf.
