Jakarta: Malaysian exhibitors at Construction Indonesia 2025 recorded total sales of RM123.26 million, reflecting strong demand for Malaysian solutions in Indonesia’s fast-growing construction market, said Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event, held from September 10 to 13, 2025, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO), featured the Malaysia Pavilion led by MATRADE, which included 12 Malaysian companies and the Jabatan Landskap Negara. These participants showcased a wide range of innovative solutions and engaged in more than 100 business meetings with Indonesian stakeholders, including buyers, distributors, and project partners.

MATRADE chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz remarked that the strong sales recorded at Construction Indonesia underscored the competitiveness and resilience of Malaysian companies. He noted that Indonesia’s construction industry is among the fastest-growing in the region, projected to reach RM1.87 trillion by 2030, offering significant opportunities in infrastructure, building materials, sustainable urban development, and landscaping.

Mohd Mustafa emphasized MATRADE’s commitment to helping Malaysian companies forge stronger partnerships in Indonesia, positioning Malaysia as a trusted partner in shaping the country’s future cities and infrastructure. He highlighted that by providing innovative and sustainable solutions, Malaysian exporters contribute to greener urban spaces and more resilient communities, aligning with Indonesia’s development agenda.

The national trade promotional arm under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry also reported that Malaysian landscaping expertise attracted strong interest at the exhibition, given Indonesia’s rapid urbanization and emphasis on sustainable city planning. This demand for urban greening and landscaping solutions is expected to increase, aligning with Malaysia’s strengths in building liveable and sustainable cities for future generations.

Moreover, Malaysia’s exports of building materials to Indonesia reached RM1.43 billion in 2024, with several product categories showing strong growth. Exports of manufactured plastics surged 36.4 percent to RM227.9 million, while metal products climbed 14.7 percent to RM264 million. MATRADE added that these positive gains reflect Malaysia’s capability to supply innovative, high-quality, and sustainable construction solutions that align with Indonesia’s evolving market needs.
