Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia officially opened its pavilion at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain today. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said in a statement today that the pavilion showcases Malaysia’s technological advancements and its role in driving progress through 5G deployment, digital infrastructure, and collaborative innovation in the ASEAN region.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the pavilion brings together the Ministry of Communications, MCMC, the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation, and industry leaders including Digital Nasional Bhd, CelcomDigi Bhd, Maxis Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, U Mobile Sdn Bhd, YTL Corporation Bhd, Edotco Group Sdn Bhd and MEASAT Global Bhd. It embodies the nation’s commitment to driving digital transformation and fostering international partnerships.
Ministry of Communications secretary general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, who inaugurated the pavilion, stated that Malaysia is committed to building a digital ecosystem that benefits both Malaysians and its regional partners. He remarked that the Malaysia Pavilion at MWC 2025 is a testament to the country’s progress and vision for a connected, innovative, and sustainable future.
MCMC added that a central highlight of the pavilion is the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (JENDELA), which has exceeded expectations by providing high-speed internet access to over 9.03 million premises, surpassing the original target of 9 million by 2025. Another key feature is the pioneering 6-Way Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN), a first-of-its-kind initiative in ASEAN that enhances connectivity through shared infrastructure among mobile network operators.
Mohamad Fauzi further noted that by showcasing its achievements at MWC 2025, Malaysia demonstrates its ability to keep pace with global advancements while contributing valuable innovations that drive economic growth and societal progress. The Malaysia Pavilion also features the MCMC Nexus, an analytics tool designed to enhance network performance and urban planning. It includes various digital solutions applied in sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, and smart cities.
The Malaysia Pavilion will be showcased at Hall 7, Stand 7H51 during MWC 2025, which runs from March 3 to 6.
