Malaysia To Host Road Infrastructure, Traffic Tech Events In November

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia will host two key events in the fields of road infrastructure and traffic technology this November – the MyASEAN Roads and Traffic Tech Expo (My-ARTTE) 2025 and the Malaysian Road Maintenance Convention (MRMC). Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said My-ARTTE will take place over three days, from Nov 3 to 5, while MRMC will be held on Nov 3 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MRMC will gather policymakers, engineers, contractors, and road owners to discuss the future of road infrastructure, safety, and maintenance in Malaysia. Nanta stated that the event will serve as a platform for sharing best practices and strengthening collaboration between the government, private sector, and the public. “It will also highlight Malaysia’s roadmap for building world-class road infrastructure, as outlined in the Highway Network Development Plan (HNDP),” he said in a speech read out by Works Ministry (KKR) secretary-general Datuk Seri Azman Ibrahim at the launch event for MRMC and My-ARTTE 2025 at MITEC.

Nanta further said that My-ARTTE 2025 will showcase cutting-edge technologies such as smart traffic management systems, drones, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in road and traffic technology. He mentioned that the integration of these technologies will allow Malaysia to predict road damage earlier, optimise traffic flow, reduce congestion, and minimise carbon emissions, in line with the nation’s ambition to become a leading technology hub in Asia. This aligns with the Malaysia MADANI vision, which prioritises human values, sustainability, and inclusivity in national development.

“Quality infrastructure is the backbone of economic competitiveness, social well-being, and regional leadership,” Nanta added, highlighting the importance of these initiatives for nation-building. Meanwhile, Association of Highway Concessionaires Malaysia (PSKLM) president Datuk Zakaria Zabidi, told a press conference that My-ARTTE is jointly organised by PSKLM, KKR, and the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), with participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia expected. “We have set up over 200 exhibitor booths for local and ASEAN companies. We expect up to 10,000 visitors over the three days and entry is free,” he said.
