Malaysia To Host Islamic Solidarity Games 2029

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia, in collaboration with the Selangor state government, has been officially awarded the hosting rights for the 7th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2029.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) announced via Facebook that the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) made the decision today. OCM president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria expressed Malaysia’s honor in being chosen to host the Games for the first time, emphasizing the event’s role in uniting the Islamic sporting community through friendship, excellence, and solidarity.

Norza Zakaria extended gratitude to ISSA, particularly to the ISSA Games Commission chaired by Mohammad Tayyab Ikram, for considering Malaysia as a potential host and entrusting them with this opportunity. The bid received full support and official endorsement from both the Federal Government of Malaysia and the State Government of Selangor, highlighting a collective goal to advance sports development and unity across the Islamic community.

Last month, Malaysia, Iran, and Uzbekistan had submitted their bids to host the Islamic Solidarity Games 2029.
