Kuala lumpur: The country's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) transformation agenda is being strengthened through the establishment of the Strategic TVET 2.0 Task Force 2026-2035 and 10 TVET Strategic Committees, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Chairman of the National TVET Council, emphasized that the task force and committees will spearhead the implementation of TVET initiatives in a more structured, comprehensive, and outcome-oriented manner. This aligns with efforts to develop a TVET ecosystem that is more responsive to industry needs and future economic challenges.

Ahmad Zahid stated, "The government will continue to strengthen the national TVET transformation agenda through more strategic, integrated, and impact-driven policy coordination." The establishment of the Strategic TVET 2.0 Task Force alongside the 10 TVET Strategic Committees aims to lead the implementation of initiatives in an organized, holistic, and results-focused manner.

The Strategic TVET 2.0 Task Force 2026-2035 is chaired by UCSI University president and vice-chancellor Emeritus Professor Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir. Among the committees are the TVET Governance and Institutional Reform Committee, chaired by Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki; the TVET Industry and Employers Committee, chaired by Datuk Khairul Azwan Harun; the TVET Financing and Sustainability Committee, chaired by Ramelle Ashram Ramli; and the Women Empowerment in TVET Committee, chaired by Datuk Dr Masilla Kamalrudin.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, highlighted that the initiative reflects the MADANI government's commitment to strengthening TVET as a key driver of the country's human capital development. The aim is to produce a highly skilled, competitive workforce ready to meet future economic demands.
