Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia continues to solidify its digital transformation with the exchange of 19 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between local players and global tech leaders on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching emphasized that the MoUs reflect the industry players’ commitment to pushing for innovation, particularly in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, and telecommunications. “They showed their commitment to bringing digital changes to Malaysia. I hope these MoUs will bring more benefits to the citizens,” she conveyed to Malaysian reporters.

Teo also expressed her confidence that the MWC would create more opportunities for international players to recognize the potential that Malaysia has to offer. Among the notable MoUs was a collaboration between CelcomDigi and Ericsson, aimed at driving transformation in the oil and gas industry powered by 5G technology. Furthermore, the telecommunication company has partnered with Huawei for an AI-powered fixed-mobile convergence network.
