Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian passport is now ranked third globally in the 2025 Passport Index, a global benchmark for passport standings. The Immigration Department (JIM) announced this achievement, highlighting the international trust and recognition of the security features of Malaysia’s travel document, which is highly regarded worldwide.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, holders of Malaysian passports enjoy visa-free travel to 174 countries across the globe. This reflects the strong position of Malaysia in terms of global mobility and access.
Data from www.passportindex.org reveals that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport currently leads the Passport Power Rank. Following closely are Singapore and Spain in second place. Malaysia shares the prestigious third position with 15 other countries, including Belgium, France, Germany, Finland, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Norway, Ireland, and South Korea.
