Kuala lumpur: Malaysia will continue to support Indonesia's diplomatic efforts to ease the Iran-Israel conflict to ensure tensions are reduced and civilian lives are protected. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized this commitment, highlighting the importance of Jakarta's initiative in fostering meaningful negotiations towards a peaceful resolution in West Asia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared in a Facebook post that the topic was part of his recent telephone conversation with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. During the call, both leaders expressed their mutual desire for peace and Anwar reiterated Malaysia's support for all efforts directed at achieving peace and resolving the conflict.
In addition to addressing regional and international matters, Anwar revealed plans for an upcoming meeting with Prabowo to further strengthen the already close bilateral relations between Malaysia and Indonesia. He indicated that they have agreed to arrange a meeting soon, which will include his proposal to visit Jakarta as part of efforts to enhance their ties.
