Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian government’s successful engagement with UK-based technology firm Arm Ltd highlights the effectiveness of Malaysia’s clear policies, such as the National Semiconductor Strategy, in attracting foreign investment, stated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, during a meeting with Arm’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Will Abbey, along with Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, discussions were held on advancing computing technology. This initiative aims to enhance Malaysia’s role as a hub in the semiconductor and data centre ecosystem.

Arm Ltd, known globally for its leadership in central processing unit (CPU) technology, is at the forefront of developing and licensing high-performance, low-cost, and energy-efficient intellectual property solutions. The company’s engagement with Malaysia is seen as a strategic move to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global semiconductor industry.
