Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia and Turkiye are committed to enhancing cooperation in family policy and inclusive social services through a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting allowed both parties to address shared challenges related to family issues, such as declining birth rates and evolving family structures. Nancy highlighted the exchange of best practices, including incentives for newlyweds and parents in Turkiye, as well as Malaysian initiatives like birth savings schemes and efforts to strengthen the institution of marriage.

Nancy also mentioned Malaysia’s proposal for an MoU focusing on women’s digital empowerment and community-based care for children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities (PwDs). She emphasized that this initiative aligns with Malaysia’s commitment to promoting a more inclusive social development agenda, particularly in its role as ASEAN chair in 2025.
