Malaysia and Singapore to Enhance Education Collaboration

Accra:Malaysia and Singapore are committed to strengthening cooperation in education to create more opportunities for students and teachers in both countries, stated Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina mentioned in a Facebook post that she discussed the matter during a meeting with her Singaporean counterpart, Desmond Lee.

The discussion included efforts to improve students' English language proficiency through the Malaysia-Singapore English Volunteers Programme (MSEVP). An exchange programme for Malay language teachers was also on the agenda to facilitate the sharing of experiences and teaching methodologies.

The collaboration extends to the use of artificial intelligence in education, with Malaysia sharing its experience in implementing the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa) digital learning platform. Additionally, both countries plan to expand school networking programmes to offer students more opportunities to appreciate cultural diversity and learn alongside their peers from the neighboring country.

Fadhlina emphasized that both countries have unique strengths in education from which they can learn from each other. She noted that the collaboration must ultimately benefit both teachers and students.
