Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia and Bahrain are set to explore strategic cooperation in entrepreneurship and the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as stated by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick. This initiative was discussed during a meeting with Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor Ali Alkhulaif, and Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla Adel Fakhro, who were on an official visit with their delegation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting also addressed joint initiatives to strengthen the MSME sector, particularly in industries with high-impact and high-growth potential. The discussions included efforts to promote Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices among entrepreneurs. Ewon emphasized that the meeting signifies a shared commitment to enhancing ties between Malaysia and Bahrain in entrepreneurship and MSME development, aligning with regional sustainable economic goals.
The Malaysian delegation at the meeting comprised the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) secretary-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, deputy secretary-general (Entrepreneur Development) Datuk Zamri Salleh, and deputy secretary-general (Policy and Monitoring) Noor Afifah Abdul Razak.
