Baku:Forty asnaf youths have been selected for construction skills training under the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme. The training will take place at the Northern Region Construction Academy (ABM) and focuses on prime mover operation, tower crane operation, and scaffolding.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme aims to equip participants with the technical skills required by the construction industry, thereby improving their employment prospects. This initiative is particularly crucial for those facing financial constraints and limited access to training opportunities.
MAIPk has allocated RM380,000 to cover the cost of the training. This effort is part of MAIPk's broader goal to train 170 asnaf participants in construction this year, contributing to the overall target of 1,200 participants under its TVET programme.
The programme is intended to create lasting change in the lives of the asnaf youths by helping them secure employment and support their families. A send-off ceremony for the participants was held at Kompleks Islam Darul Ridzuan, officiated by MAIPk Asnaf Empowerment Division general manager Amirudin Osman. Additionally, ABM presented a business zakat contribution to Zakat Perak Al Ridzuan during the event.
