MAHB Donates Emergency Response Equipment To Strengthen Disaster Preparedness

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has donated 20 chainsaws worth over RM96,000 to the Volunteer Firefighter Squad (PBS) through the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) to boost disaster preparedness. MAHB managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani stated that the contribution is aimed at strengthening rescue operations and expediting post-disaster emergency response by the relevant agencies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MAHB carries out various programmes under its corporate social responsibility platform, MYAirportCARES, which aims to deliver sustainable benefits to communities surrounding its areas of operation. The company collaborates with government and non-governmental partners to deliver comprehensive, swift, and impactful assistance. This initiative demonstrates MAHB’s commitment to supporting the well-being of the people and the nation.

Mohd Izani added that the programme forms part of MAHB’s Community Empowerment pillar, focusing on humanitarian aid, disaster preparedness, and post-disaster recovery, thus aligning with the company’s role as a strategic partner under the GLC/GLIC Disaster Response Network (GDRN) framework. The contribution was carried out in collaboration with MAHB, the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), PBS, and MRA, all of which play key roles in disaster response efforts.

Previously, Malaysia Airports contributed 500 modular tents and 12,000 fire- and water-resistant safety folders to the National Humanitarian Response Depot (DTBKN), in addition to providing essential supplies to flood victims in Sarawak, Kelantan, Kedah, and Johor.
