Serdang: Exhibition Hall A at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) was temporarily closed following a minor incident involving smoke and an unpleasant odour at 4:50 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a statement on the official Expo MAHA 2026 Facebook page reported that the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was summoned to the scene to conduct further inspections as a safety measure. The statement advised the public and exhibitors to calmly evacuate Hall A immediately until further notice.
The statement further mentioned that Hall A would only reopen once authorities confirmed it was safe. The safety of visitors, exhibitors, and personnel is the organisers' top priority. The statement expressed the organisers' commitment to addressing the issue and thanked everyone for their cooperation and patience during this time. It also assured that further updates would be provided periodically.
The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA) is underway at MAEPS from August 28 to September 6. The event features approximately 2,000 exhibitors and aims to attract over four million visitors.
