Serdang: The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has attracted 1.87 million visitors and recorded almost RM12 million in sales as of yesterday, said Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the figure is expected to rise further in the final days of MAHA 2026, driven by business-matching sessions and large-scale sales. Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu expressed satisfaction with the turnout, acknowledging some issues but assuring efforts to address them. His comments came after the launch of the Fishermen Database System (PADAN) at the event.

He addressed viral allegations regarding buggy rental charges on social media, clarifying that the service was for corporate clients and not part of the public transport services provided by the organisers. Mohamad emphasized that for the general public, services such as trams and buses are mostly free to facilitate movement within the event.

MAHA 2026 is being held from August 28 to September 6 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS). It features about 2,000 exhibitors and targets more than four million visitors. The biennial event aims for at least RM8 billion in potential investments through MoUs and MoAs, alongside RM58 million in direct sales.
