Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has recorded 1.8 million visitors and nearly RM6 million in sales in its first three days, says Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He noted that 184,000 vehicles were documented entering and leaving the exhibition grounds during this period, indicating significant traffic due to the large turnout.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MAHA 2026 is aiming for sales of at least RM58 million, with purchases such as crop seeds expected to contribute significantly to this goal. "Three days have passed, and visitor turnout for MAHA has reached 1.8 million, with 184,000 vehicles moving in and out. This means very heavy traffic in the area," Mohamad Sabu told reporters after launching Laman Padi MAHA 2026 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

Addressing transport issues arising from the high visitor numbers, Mohamad mentioned that shuttle services had been increased, with further improvements planned based on ongoing assessments. He stated that the relevant committee met daily to tackle complaints and devise solutions to ensure the smooth running of the event.

"Earlier, I walked past the state pavilions and saw very long queues. We have informed the management to find ways to transport visitors quickly, especially given the current hot weather," he added.

Mohamad attributed the high turnout to the array of programmes offered at MAHA, including the celebration of MAHA Merdeka, which featured fireworks and drone shows in honor of National Day. MAHA 2026, scheduled from August 28 to September 6 at MAEPS, boasts around 2,000 exhibitors and is targeting over four million visitors.
