MAF Engages Pulau Banggi Community in Nationalism Programme

Pulau banggi: The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) conducted a Nationalism Programme for the local community, including school students, at Pulau Banggi near here over two days starting July 1. MAF’s initiative focused on instilling national spirit and engaging residents, particularly students in maritime border areas who live far from the mainland.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme was carried out at SK Semayan, SK Balambangan, and SK Dogoton during the second quarter of this year. It aimed to ensure all levels of society have equal opportunities to participate in government-organised programmes. The programme emphasized instilling love for the nation and the importance of defending national sovereignty.

The initiative sought to strengthen the patriotic spirit among island residents on the east coast of Sabah. Activities included displaying Malaysian flags around schools, delivering talks on nationalism, and distributing Relationship Building Items (RBIs) to students and teachers. A total of 10 MAF officers and personnel, along with 96 teachers and students, participated in the programme held at SK Dogoton.

MAF, in a statement, reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and national sovereignty. The personnel will continue to work closely with the people to further strengthen the country’s security from any form of internal or external threat.
