Madani Government’s Three-Year Tenure Recalibrates National Agenda and Builds Public Trust

Kuala lumpur: The three-year administration of the MADANI Government is being hailed as a success in resetting the nation’s course, restoring public trust, and refocusing on an inclusive and sustainable development agenda centered on citizen welfare, despite numerous challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that the government was established amid political and economic instability, necessitating immediate measures to restore national stability. Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, stressed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring rural development plays a pivotal role in national growth, rather than being sidelined.

He highlighted efforts to restructure the rural development ecosystem with a comprehensive approach, which includes implementing essential infrastructure such as roads, water, electricity, and other social amenities. Over RM7.7 billion has been allocated over three years to narrow the urban-rural development divide, ensuring rural communities have access to modern facilities.

Ahmad Zahid also noted significant progress in human capital transformation through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), with graduate employability rising to 95.1% from 9.45% the previous year, and student enrollment increasing to 212,022. Additionally, the Pre-Tahfiz Programme by the Community Development Department has produced 52,000 young huffaz, and MARA TVET initiatives have developed over 800,000 skilled students.

Furthermore, Ahmad Zahid reported that 420 Orang Asli students are now attending university, marking the highest achievement in the country’s history. The rural economy has also seen growth, with initiatives by MARA, RISDA, and FELCRA generating 7,000 new entrepreneurs, creating 15,000 jobs, and achieving a sales value of over RM1.77 billion.

Malaysia has bolstered its global standing in the halal industry through MIHASShanghai 2025, which hosted 200 booths and 250 companies, resulting in transactions exceeding RM3.2 billion, supporting the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030.

On disaster preparedness, Ahmad Zahid mentioned the operation of 1,798 telemetry hydrological stations, 197 monitoring cameras, and 36 flood forecasting models under the Flood Forecasting and Warning Programme. Additionally, 614 early flood warning sirens have been installed in high-risk areas to ensure timely alerts for residents.

The government is also advancing the National Disaster Risk Reduction Policy 2030, crafted by NADMA, with a National Action Plan and urging State Governments to create State-Level Disaster Risk Reduction Strategies and Action Plans.

In his closing remarks, Ahmad Zahid asserted that political stability is essential for progress, and that the rural development and TVET education agendas are vital components in empowering Malaysia for a more prosperous and competitive future. He expressed gratitude to all employees, civil servants, and the Malaysian people for their ongoing trust in the Unity Government and pledged continued commitment to advancing Malaysia as a stable and respected nation.
