Madad Ventures Into Islamic Wall Clock Production

Kuala Lumpur: The Murtadha Dakwah Centre (Madad), a community development and education centre, has ventured into producing Islamic wall clocks as part of its business diversification strategy. Madad managing director Mohammad Yaakub Yusra announced that this initiative aims to generate income for the institution and reduce its reliance on public donations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Madad has partnered with Promas Technology Sdn Bhd, a company with extensive experience in manufacturing digital wall clocks equipped with azan (call to prayer). Mohammad Yaakub Yusra revealed that Madad has invested approximately RM1 million to establish the clock production facility, acquire necessary machinery and equipment, and conduct research.

The first batch of 1,000 clocks, featuring prayer times and azan functions, is available for sale this month, and most units have already been pre-ordered. To meet the growing demand, another 5,000 units are scheduled for production next month.

Mohammad Yaakub emphasized that the clocks are certified by the Home Ministry and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), in addition to their appealing features and designs. He also provided an update on the Madad Islamic Community Centre project, stating that construction has reached 60 percent completion since it began in 2018.

In addition to the clock venture, Madad has several other projects in the pipeline, including a petrol station, hotel, housing development, and the Madad Edu Kids project.
