Kuala lumpur: The investigation papers regarding alleged misappropriation involving a RM1.11 billion investment linked to a former senior minister will be opened by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) once the relevant documents have been reviewed. MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya stated that the commission has so far received complaints from three non-governmental organisations and needs time to conduct a review.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner emphasized the need for time to examine the documents submitted before taking any further action. He expressed this during the closing ceremony of the MACC Journalism Workshop, underscoring the importance of a thorough review process to ensure an accurate investigation.
Yesterday, the MACC confirmed the receipt of a report regarding the alleged misappropriation of investments amounting to RM1.11 billion, which is connected to the former senior minister. The report from the complainants highlighted suspicions of irregularities in the negotiation and approval process, alongside issues that could potentially lead to perceived conflicts of interest.
