MACC to Cooperate with Police in MyEG-Zetrix Investigation

Accra:The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has received an official complaint involving MyEG and Zetrix AI Bhd and plans to cooperate with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), which is currently investigating the issue.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC acknowledged receiving the complaint on October 7 and stated their willingness to review and share information with the PDRM regarding any offenses under police jurisdiction. PDRM will also forward any information to the MACC if elements of corruption are identified, allowing the commission to take appropriate action.

Furthermore, the MACC has called for all parties to refrain from speculating or spreading unverified information that could hinder the investigation. The commission emphasized its commitment to act independently, fairly, and within the legal framework.

This development follows the announcement by Transport Minister Anthony Loke on October 5, suspending MyEG and Zetrix AI Bhd as collection agents for the Road Transport Department (JPJ). The suspension came after the companies failed to remit RM314 million in collections to the government for the period from May 19 to September 30, despite receiving 35 reminders and engaging with authorities since May.
