MACC Proposes Nationwide Anti-Corruption Campaign

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (PPPR) has tabled a proposal for a national anti-corruption campaign focused on embedding long-term reform through governance and education.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the campaign would be spearheaded by MACC and is aimed at promoting integrity and moral values throughout all levels of society. Datin Yasmin Ahmad Merican, chairman of the PPPR, stated that the initiative seeks to foster a shared national vision to strengthen integrity and moral values for the benefit of future generations.

The panel’s second meeting of the year also covered discussions on recent findings from the Special Task Force on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and matters related to the MACC’s Governance Investigation Division.

Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman, MACC deputy chief commissioner (Prevention) and PPPR ex-officio member, emphasized the importance of consultations with state governments to gather feedback and develop more effective strategies for the proposed national campaign.
