Kuala lumpur: The anti-corruption education application "Maccampus" will be launched at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in conjunction with the 2026 Student Financial Literacy, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Programme on Saturday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy director (Community Education Division) Samsul Salip stated that the application was developed as a learning platform providing various information related to integrity, anti-corruption, and research for university students. The application also includes research results conducted by MACC in collaboration with universities, which can serve as a reference for students' academic assignments or thesis preparation if relevant to their field of study.
Samsul made these remarks while appearing on the programme Fokus 30 titled 'SPRM Gembleng Gen Z Agen Basmi Rasuah', aired by Bernama Radio. He mentioned that the new MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman is scheduled to attend the programme, which is in collaboration with UMT, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the Credit Counselling and Management Agency (AKPK), and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Samsul also highlighted that this year's 'MACC Chief Commissioner Anti-Corruption Debate Programme Trophy' will be held at the University of Malaya (UM) in October, continuing the tradition of hosting it at the institution that won the previous edition. The competition typically involves around 40 teams from public and private higher education institutions across the country, with topics focusing on integrity, governance, and anti-corruption efforts.
Furthermore, commenting on the termination of the screening of the film Konspirasi, which focuses on the MACC, Samsul said they learned about the matter through media reports and statements from the producers. Despite its brief seven-day screening, the film increased public understanding of the MACC's role.
Samsul added that the MACC has collaborated with producers interested in making films about the agency, sharing information on operational aspects that can be showcased to the public. This includes how the MACC collaborates with other agencies in investigations, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in investigations, and the existence of the MACC Anti-Corruption Tactical Squad (ACTS) for handling high-profile and risky cases.
He noted that the response was positive, with the public gaining a better understanding of the MACC's diverse roles and specialized teams. Last Sunday, Elepfilm Entertainment Sdn Bhd announced that the decision to stop screening Konspirasi was made internally by the management without external influence.
