Kuala Lumpur: The Farmers’ Organisation Authority (LPP) aims to develop 5,000 entrepreneurs from among farmers and their children this year, ensuring each earns a net income of at least RM5,000 per month. Chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar said this initiative seeks to inspire farmers, particularly young entrepreneurs, to recognise the vast opportunities and potential within the agricultural sector.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, LPP has successfully produced several entrepreneurs from among successful farmers, and this time, a target of 5,000 entrepreneurs has been set. Mahfuz highlighted the promising income potential in the agricultural sector today, encouraging unemployed graduates to seize this opportunity. He shared these insights while speaking to reporters after a breaking fast event with the media.

Mahfuz elaborated on the various aids and grants provided by LPP to assist entrepreneurs, increase production capacity, and strengthen economic projects in the agricultural sector. The Agriprentice Grant offers RM20,000 to each successful applicant, focusing on agricultural production, services, marketing, and skills improvement. Additionally, the Young Agropreneur Grant (GAM) provides grants ranging from RM30,000 to RM50,000, targeting young entrepreneurs involved in the crop, livestock, fisheries, and agro-based industries sectors.

He emphasized that applicants must be LPP members to qualify for grant assistance. Mahfuz mentioned that numerous facilities are available to ensure that farmers and their children can be further empowered, reflecting LPP’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural community.
