Lost Bag Containing RM1 Million Found in Middle of Road – Police.

PETALING JAYA: A bag containing RM1 million in cash that was reported missing yesterday afternoon in Ampang has been found on Jalan Hulu Kelang, heading towards the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway. Selangor Deputy Police Chief Datuk S. Sasikala Devi stated that the bag, discovered in the middle of the road, was found by a member of the public on the same day the incident was reported.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, preliminary investigations suggest that the security van carrying the money was on its way from a bank in Ampang to Kuala Lumpur. It is believed that the bag fell out when the vehicle passed through a bend in the road. The bag has been handed over to the police for further action, with more details to be shared once the investigation is completed, as mentioned by Sasikala Devi at a press conference at the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters.

Sasikala Devi further noted that police are currently taking statements from both the individual who found the bag and the driver of the secur
ity van. Earlier, Ampang Jaya Police Chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail reported that police received information about the incident at 3:55 pm yesterday, following a collection carried out by a security company from a bank in the area. It was understood that the security van driver noticed the vehicle’s door was open and realised the bag was missing, prompting him to file a police report.
