Lorry Driver Dies After Rear-ending Trailer on North-South Expressway

Muar: A lorry driver died after the vehicle he was driving rear-ended a trailer at KM 132.3 of the North-South Expressway heading north here this morning. Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz reported that the accident took place after a public report was received around 7 am. Initial investigations indicated the trailer, driven by a 49-year-old man, was en route from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the lorry, driven by 44-year-old S. Thevandaran, collided with the rear of the trailer, resulting in serious injuries. The victim was pronounced dead while receiving treatment in the Red Zone of Muar Hospital. The trailer driver did not sustain any injuries.

Authorities are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
