Kuala lumpur: A lorry driver was injured on his left arm after being attacked by two unknown individuals in Taman Sri Murni, Batu Caves, last Friday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sentul police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari stated that the incident took place around 11 pm near Block 58 of the Taman Sri Murni flats. The 28-year-old victim was approached by two men on a motorcycle who allegedly slashed his left arm multiple times with a machete before fleeing the scene.

The initial investigations revealed that the victim did not recognize the suspects and had no previous disputes with anyone. The victim reported that the attackers approached and assaulted him without any provocation, and he claimed he had not been hostile to anyone nor suspected any individual.

Ahmad Sukarno mentioned that a witness, the victim's girlfriend, was present during the incident. She reported that the attack occurred rapidly, preventing her from identifying the suspects as they were wearing helmets. She also confirmed that the victim did not have any financial debts.

The victim is currently receiving treatment at Selayang Hospital, and the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
