Kuala lumpur: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said he will propose to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council convene to discuss recent political developments following statements made at the UMNO General Assembly. He stated that the recent statements raised concerns regarding political certainty and stability, which could affect investor and public confidence in the country.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke expressed concern and serious consideration over these developments, indicating that he would request Anwar, who is the PH chairman, to call for a Presidential Council meeting. This meeting aims to review and discuss the latest developments upon Anwar's return from his overseas trip. Loke emphasized that some of the statements made do not contribute positively to political certainty and stability, as component parties in the government appear to be not heading in the same direction. He stressed the importance of the Prime Minister making this clear with all component parties.

Loke made these remarks to reporters after officiating the CARSOME Academy M.V.15 Vehicle Inspection Centre at the CARSOME Dealer Hub. He was responding to media queries regarding UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's remarks in his winding-up speech at the recently concluded UMNO assembly, which addressed Barisan Nasional's (BN) position in the Unity Government. When asked whether PH would seek clarification on BN's position or the challenges issued by the UMNO leadership, Loke maintained that any official top-level response should come directly from the Prime Minister.
