Kuala lumpur: Sunway Medical Centre (SMC), located in Sunway City, Selangor, is set to host its annual health and wellness event, the Life Moves Festival 2025, at the hospital’s Tower D Lobby on August 3. The one-day festival invites the public to participate from 10 am to 4 pm, focusing on raising awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease, while promoting early detection and healthier lifestyle choices.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the festival, themed ‘Every Move Matters, Every Step Counts Against NCDs’, will highlight preventive healthcare through a variety of interactive exhibits, free screenings, and engaging family-friendly activities. Festivalgoers will have access to a range of complimentary basic health checks, including blood glucose tests, body composition analysis, and urine tests, designed to help individuals gain insights into their current health status and recommend follow-up consultations if necessary.
One of the standout features of the festival is the ‘Jantungku’ Walkthrough Heart Exhibit, which provides a detailed look at the human heart, aiming to educate visitors on how cardiovascular health can be influenced by daily lifestyle choices. In addition to the health screenings and exhibits, the festival promises a day filled with light-hearted fun and discovery, including game stations and flash quiz challenges that offer learning opportunities about healthy living for all ages.
Visitors will also have the chance to explore the Health Marketplace, which will showcase wellness brands, health-centric products, and nutritious food options. SMC emphasizes that the Life Moves Festival is an integral part of its ongoing commitment to supporting national public health goals, promoting informed health decisions, and encouraging sustainable behavioral change through education and community engagement.
