Kuala lumpur: The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) clarified that letters concerning the Basic Rahmah Contribution (SARA) are being distributed in phases to 5.4 million recipients across the nation. This initiative aims to ensure every eligible recipient is informed of the aid provided by the MADANI Government.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Corporate Communications Unit of JPM’s ICU stated in a release that the government is committed to assisting those who genuinely qualify to benefit from SARA, which seeks to alleviate the burden of living costs. The statement emphasized that under the MADANI Government, RM5 billion has been allocated for SARA to support 5.4 million recipients nationwide.
The notification process for the SARA programme’s implementation mirrors that of the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR), conducted annually. This similarity ensures the aid effectively reaches the intended groups, as highlighted in the statement. The government is dedicated to continually enhancing the implementation of SARA, ensuring that aid not only alleviates burdens but also significantly impacts recipients’ lives.
The JPM ICU mentioned that ongoing improvements would include expanding product categories and involving more shops and supermarkets, all aimed at prioritizing the community’s well-being. The release of the letter sparked viral discussions on social media, with claims suggesting it might be a strategy to garner votes ahead of the Sabah State Election this coming Saturday.
