Putrajaya:German cyclist Lennart Jasch achieved a remarkable feat by winning both the overall General Classification and the King of the Mountain titles as the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) concluded its eight-stage race from Muar to Putrajaya.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 26-year-old rider from the Tudor Pro Cycling Team maintained his lead from Stage Two, successfully defending the Orange Jersey. His victory was secured with a total time of 28 hours, 57 minutes, and 02 seconds. Jasch expressed his gratitude towards his team, acknowledging their support throughout the challenging race.
Jasch finished 26 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, Abel Balderstone Roumens from the Caja Rural Seguros RGA team. Balderstone's teammate, Jan Castellon Ribalt, completed the podium at 42 seconds behind the leader. Jasch also claimed the Polka Dot Jersey as the King of the Mountains, earning 45 points, ahead of Petr Rikunov and Castellon.
Reflecting on his first ProSeries General Classification title, Jasch shared that this victory surpassed his initial goal of a top-five finish, marking his first major win outside Europe and Italy.
Italian cyclist Matteo Malucelli of the XDS Astana Team won the final stage, clocking in at 4:05:17 in a sprint finish. This victory also secured his position as the Best Sprinter with the Blue Jersey.
Japan's Yuhi Todome from the Aisan Racing Team claimed the White Jersey as the Best Asian Rider with an overall time of 29:04:23. Malaysia's Tsen Ren Bao of the St George Continental Cycling Team emerged as the top Malaysian rider, finishing 25th in the overall standings.
