Lembah Pantai to Receive New Health Clinic and School for Enhanced Community Facilities

Kuala lumpur: Lembah Pantai is set to receive new infrastructure developments, including the construction of a health clinic and a primary school, to enhance facilities and the well-being of residents. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that a new health clinic, estimated to cost RM60 million, will be built in the Pantai Central Park area to improve healthcare access for residents.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi stated that the level and type of services provided at the new clinic will surpass those available at the Tanglin Health Clinic. This announcement was made during the 'Tadarus dan Khatam Al-Quran Perdana' ceremony held at Ar-Rahah Mosque in Bangsar South, which saw about 800 women in attendance. The event was organized by Pertubuhan Kebajikan Inspirasi Anggun Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (WPKL), Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dinamika Rakyat WPKL, and Muafakat Muslimat JBAQ LP.

Fahmi, who is also the Lembah Pantai MP, emphasized the anticipation of the new clinic by residents, as it would offer a more convenient location compared to the Tanglin Health Clinic.

Regarding educational infrastructure, Fahmi disclosed plans for a new primary school to be built at the site of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Pantai. This development is aimed at addressing overcrowding issues at existing schools. The new Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Pantai is expected to have 36 classrooms, alleviating congestion at a minimum of two primary schools in the Lembah Pantai area.

In related developments, Fahmi mentioned that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is evaluating a proposal to redevelop Bazaria Pantai to enhance comfort for traders and visitors. The redevelopment plan is under consideration, particularly due to a proposal for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) 3 line near the location. Two design options are being explored, including a multi-storey concept integrating an Urban Transformation Centre (UTC), multi-level parking, and more spacious stalls.

Fahmi noted that discussions are ongoing with MRT (Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd), with further talks expected next week to finalize the design.
