Kuala lumpur: Social activist and former politician Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of his autobiography 'Call Lee Lam Thye: Recalling a Lifetime of Service' to Yayasan SALAM Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the foundation's trustee, Datuk Yong Soo Heong, announced that a ceremony would be held tomorrow at 11 am at Lee's office on the 10th floor of Menara EcoWorld, Jalan Hang Tuah, Bukit Bintang. The book, published in 2022, details Lee's journey from becoming an assemblyman at 23 in the 1970s to his influential role in civic activism and nation-building.
Yong emphasized that the autobiography serves as both a personal memoir and a civic reflection, reinforcing Lee's reputation as a lifelong social activist. The book provides firsthand insight into Malaysian civic activism and political life from the 1970s onward and highlights Lee's commitment to service, unity, and charity, principles that have guided his lifelong advocacy.
Yayasan SALAM Malaysia is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism in Malaysia for the past 30 years.
