Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 Achieves Success with Challenging Routes and High Praise

Kuala Lumpur:Le Tour de Langkawi: The prestigious cycling race Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 (LTdL26) has achieved significant success, meeting the organisers' objectives with a route that includes three challenging climbing zones: Gunung Jerai, Cameron Highlands, and Genting Highlands.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the race received high recognition from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Commissary Panel. Paul Watson, who led the panel, expressed his admiration for the event's organisation, particularly in terms of safety measures managed by the Royal Malaysia Police, which he described as flawless.

Emir Abdul Jalal, the LTdL Chief Operating Officer, highlighted that Watson praised the race manual documentation, stating it was even more comprehensive than that of the Tour de France. This positive feedback has boosted the organisers' confidence in maintaining the highest 'all green' grade rating from the UCI.

Despite initial concerns about introducing a new route at Gunung Jerai, all 15 national riders successfully completed the race, dispelling worries about meeting time limits. Emir noted that this year's competition was dynamic and balanced, appealing to international professional teams by preventing domination by any single rider.
