Langkawi:A total of 111 participants from various backgrounds attended the Langkawi Mega AI Physical Workshop 2026, aiming to enhance their skills in artificial intelligence (AI), which is increasingly shaping how people work, learn, and conduct business.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the workshop took place from October 2 to 4 at the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) and included professionals, civil servants, private sector employees, entrepreneurs, and students.
Programme director Captain Ts Dr. Baharin Baharom highlighted that the event received support from 25 strategic partners, demonstrating the corporate sector's commitment to equipping society with future technology skills. He emphasized that developing AI skills requires collaboration among the government, industry, educational institutions, and the community.
The workshop focused on hands-on learning in areas such as generative AI, prompt engineering, writing and communication, visual and presentation content creation, data analysis, and the safe and responsible use of AI. Baharin noted that the programme's success showed society's readiness to keep pace with AI advancements, viewing technological literacy as a long-term investment in human capital and economic opportunities.
Ts Siti Nordianah Hai Hom from the Ministry of Education advocated for the continuation and expansion of such programmes to ensure AI skills are accessible to people from all backgrounds. She stressed that AI should not be exclusive to professionals or experts but should be introduced to the general public to help bridge the digital divide.
Participant V. Lithashini from Cuti-Cuti Langkawi shared that the workshop provided her with new insights into AI capabilities, such as generating videos from static images and simplifying work processes.
