Lane Widening At Besraya Completed, Opens To Traffic On Monday

Kuala lumpur: The 400-metre widening project near the Seri Kembangan Interchange (southbound) on the Sungai Besi Highway (BESRAYA) is now fully completed and will be opened to traffic starting this Monday. As a result, users of the BESRAYA Highway from Kuala Lumpur to Balakong and Putrajaya can now enjoy a more comfortable journey.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, BESRAYA (M) Sdn Bhd announced in a statement that the RM5.22 million project was implemented with the support of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM). The project involved widening the route from KM4.2 to KM3.8 of the BESRAYA Highway (southbound) to increase lane capacity and smoothen traffic movement for users from the South Mines Toll Plaza to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Balakong, and Putrajaya, especially during peak hours.

The statement further noted that with the opening of the newly widened lanes, the tidal lane from KM5.3 to KM3.8 southbound will be terminated. This change is expected to improve the efficiency and smoothness of traffic flow in both directions. BESRAYA remains committed to providing a safer, more comfortable, and smoother highway network, especially for users heading to Balakong and Putrajaya, while supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's highway infrastructure network.
