Gua musang: Several concrete barriers have been installed by the Public Works Department (JKR) to prevent road users from passing through the collapsed road section on the Gua Musang-Lojing Road near Pos Blau here. Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo stated that the installation of the barriers was carried out by concession company Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd, involving two locations: Kilometre (KM) 44 of the Gua Musang-Lojing Road and KM48 of the Lojing-Gua Musang Road.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo urged road users, including motorcyclists, to avoid risking their lives by travelling through the affected landslide area. He mentioned that two summonses have already been issued to motorcyclists who violated the road closure order. Sik elaborated that his department could impose a compound of RM500 under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 against any individual who violates the closure order for the Gua Musang-Lojing Road.
Previously, media reports indicated that a teenage boy broke his left arm after his vehicle fell into a ravine due to a landslide at KM45 of the Gua Musang-Lojing Road on Dec 3. Meanwhile, Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail mentioned that his department is currently studying the repair work at the collapsed site. The JKR Slope Engineering Branch officers conducted an inspection on Dec 3, and the collapsed road is still under study for repairs. An existing federal road can be used as an alternative route by users.
The Gua Musang-Lojing FT185 road at Section 107.6, near Pos Blau, has been completely closed to all vehicles since Dec 3 following the landslide.
