Lahad Datu Deputy Police Chief Passes Away Due to Health Issues

Kuching:Lahad Datu: Supt Jimmy Panyau, the deputy police chief of Lahad Datu, has passed away at the age of 53. He died last night at the Kuching Life Care Society in Sarawak following complications related to liver health.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Lahad Datu police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail confirmed the death, stating that Jimmy died at 9.30 pm. He praised Jimmy for being a dedicated officer during his service.

Dzulbaharin detailed that Jimmy sought medical attention at Borneo Medical Centre in Kuching on August 14 due to liver-related health issues. He was admitted for examination and treatment, discharged on August 15, and was on medical leave until August 23.

Further medical examinations at Gleneagles Hospital in Kota Kinabalu revealed a growth in the liver and bile duct area. On August 20, Jimmy sought additional treatment at Sarawak General Hospital, where he was admitted to the Male Surgical Ward for more monitoring and treatment.

Previously, Jimmy had served as the police chief in Mukah, Sarawak.
