Kuala lumpur: The TikTok Shop Live Hub facility will be expanded to more states to help local entrepreneurs leverage the digital platform to market their products. Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong stated that there are currently four Live Hub facilities in Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Kelantan, and Johor, which offer amenities for entrepreneurs to conduct live sales on TikTok.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sim mentioned that this facility provides various amenities, including live broadcasting equipment, training, and mentoring services, for entrepreneurs who want to market their products online. "This year, we will be adding the Live Hub facilities in Penang and Kuantan, Pahang, as well as expanding facilities in other states so that entrepreneurs nationwide will benefit," he said during the launch of the TikTok Shop Bazaar Raya 2026 event.
Sim highlighted that the establishment of the Live Hub aims to assist entrepreneurs who may not have suitable facilities at home or business premises to conduct live sales. He emphasized that using an online platform like TikTok Shop can open up broader opportunities for local entrepreneurs to increase sales and expand market reach.
Sim also noted that this effort aligns with the ministry's strategy to strengthen market access for local entrepreneurs as part of the "Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia" mission. The Live Hub initiative is a strategic cooperation between TikTok Shop and the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) to empower local entrepreneurs through an innovative e-commerce ecosystem.
The TikTok Shop platform is seen as having the potential to be a catalyst for the growth of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by helping entrepreneurs expand their markets and increase sales through digital technology. Sim pointed out that the platform provides opportunities for young entrepreneurs and helps traditional entrepreneurs adapt to technological changes and current market trends.
Furthermore, Sim indicated that the government aims to ensure local entrepreneurs not only have a bigger share in the domestic market but are also able to penetrate the international market. He added that TikTok Shop has played a significant role in empowering local entrepreneurs through various training and business development programs.
Sim concluded by stating that the platform has so far provided training to nearly 200,000 entrepreneurs and successfully produced 10 new millionaire entrepreneurs through the implemented incubation program.
