Shah alam: More than 100 young entrepreneurs are gaining practical business experience through the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) Entrepreneur Carnival (KUP) 2026, which provides a platform for participants to test their products, engage with customers, and apply entrepreneurial knowledge in a real business environment.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PKNS group deputy chief executive officer (Strategic Partnership) Md Kamarzan Md Rais stated that the initiative aimed to strengthen the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs by enabling participants to enhance their business skills and evaluate their market strategies at commercial locations. He highlighted that KUP 2026 is designed to let young entrepreneurs experience the realities of running a business, rather than relying solely on theory. The program allows them to test business resilience, assess product marketability, and build confidence in managing daily operations.
At the launch of KUP 2026, attended by PKNS entrepreneur development manager Yuzawati Yusof at PKNS Complex, Md Kamarzan introduced the Strategic Expo Participation Management Module, a new initiative this year. This module systematically prepares participants before they join sales platforms, focusing on setting participation objectives, identifying target customers, developing effective communication strategies, improving product presentation techniques, and evaluating post-event sales performance.
Md Kamarzan emphasized the importance of maximizing business opportunities strategically, rather than setting up booths without proper planning. He expressed hope that KUP 2026 and the new module would help entrepreneurs assess product strengths and build confidence to explore wider markets in the future. He reiterated PKNS's commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem through practical, inclusive, and high-impact approaches to support the state's economic growth.
The three-day event, held until July 26 at the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, gathers participants from four PKNS entrepreneur development programs: the Tunas Niaga Programme (PROTUNe), Graduate Entrepreneur Programme (GROW), Advanced Graduate Entrepreneur Programme (GROW PLUS), and BIZCLUB Exclusive Programme. A total of 122 sales booths have been provided for participants to market products and services across segments such as food and beverages, fashion, beauty, and health.
The carnival also includes interactive activities like the Entrepreneur Development Division Pavilion, 360 Business Counselling, entrepreneur demonstration competitions, and the Coffee and Chill area. Visitors to PKNS Complex can enjoy Happy Hour promotions and participate in 50 lucky draws.
